At Gaata Katha Charities One Woman One World, we believe that empowering women is key to building stronger communities and a brighter future. Our passionate team is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Indian women living in poverty. Together, we work tirelessly to provide resources, education, and support to help them rise above their circumstances.

Jayanthi Ramanan
Founder & Executive Director

Thiagarajan Ramanan
An engineer by profession, a true giver through education and tutoring, Ram started as a metallurgical Engineer in Canada and later became Technical Director for a large company in the US. A dedicated father and husband, Ram joined Jayanthi to serve the communities. Together they worked in nursing homes, old age homes and many more.
In 2013 Ram took a voluntary retirement to support Jayanthi in her pursuit of service in India.
Today Ram takes care of all administration work needed to run this organization while Jayanthi does the field work.
Ram also serves on the board of various organizations and is well respected by family, friends and colleagues.
Along with his Consulting job, Ram is always available to serve. He shares his corporate wisdom with the team and mentors them.

Ashok Joshi
Dr. Joshi is a well-recognized innovator and high-technology entrepreneur. Dr. Joshi has developed several technologies in the Energy,Environmental and Biotech fields. He is an inventor of more than 150 issued US patents , and has over 20 pending US Patents. He was responsible for commercializing six products (two used for institutional use, two for medical use, and one for industrial use). In recent years, his efforts are commercializing sustainable products in Aircare as well as in Surface Care.

Phil Boileau
Phil hails from Detroit and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005. Early in his career he started a house painting business and worked in the entertainment industry. In 2014 he started his own database consulting firm, Crosswinds Data Consulting, where he continues to operate as Principal. In this capacity he has supported dozens of businesses and nonprofits, and looks forward to lending his expertise in nonprofit administration to his role on the Board of Directors. Phil travels as often as possible, and has an affinity for many of the regions of India where Gaata Katha operates. Phil is happily married with a fantastic baby daughter, and loves Salt Lake City, where he now lives.

Shuba Bhaskaran:
With a solid background in technology sales and a recent focus on go-to-market strategy development, Shuba’s journey has led her to Paperflite where she currently spearheads the sales division.
Prior to that Shuba has worked in LinkedIn as Large Enterprise Account Director, Hewlett-Packard and other companies.
Shuba is passionate about giving back to society. She leads Gaata Katha organization in India by developing web design, contacts with weavers and farmers and promoting their products through Gaata Katha.

Dr. Timothy La Pine, neonatologist

Karmeen Kulkarni
Nationally Redcognized Clinical Expert in Diabetes Management.
Former Director of Global Scientific Affairs, Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), at Abbott Diabetes Care, she managed a Global team including Medical Science Liaisons. Karmeen has over 30 years' experience in the area of diabetes management, with extensive clinical background. Prior to her role at Abbott Diabetes Care, Karmeen coordinated the Diabetes Center at St. Marks Hospital, under her leadership the Center was recognized as a Regional Center for the Intermountain West, serving adolescent to geriatric populations, and specializing in insulin pumps, MDI and CGM.

Naresh Rajanna
Vice President of Supply Chain with Estee Lauder companies in New York. Prior to this he held various management roles at Pepsi and Whirlpool.
He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and holds a Masters in engineering from University of Texas with a specialization in Robotics.

Tejaswini Gadicherla
Senior Manager at ASML in Wilton Connecticut. Prior to this she has held various technical roles in Integramed and WMS gaming.
She has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from University of North Carolina.
Both Naresh and Tejaswini are passionate about serving others and are very happy to join Gaata Katha Charities and work with the team.
